How to Apply for a Zambia Visa in Dallas

The city of Dallas and the surrounding metropolitan area is the most populous metropolis in the southern United States and fourth-most populous in the country.  The Dallas metropolitan area—known as the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, or DFW by local residents—has a population of 7.6 million people and includes the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Irving, Garland, Richardson, Frisco, Mesquite, Denton, Grand Prairie, and McKinney.  The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, located in North Texas, is one of the fastest growing regions in the country thanks to its low cost of living, low taxes, abundance of resources, and ease of doing business.  Dallas has the second-highest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the United States and there is a long list of companies that have been relocating to the area from other parts of the country.  Dallas has a growing population of immigrants, including those from Sub-Saharan Africa and the nation of Zambia.  The city is home to the Association of Zambians in Dallas-Fort Worth, a nonprofit organization that caters to the needs of Zambians and hosts events such dinner parties, business expos, and Independence Day celebrations.  Dallas also has several Christian ministries and nonprofit organizations providing services in Zambia.

Zambia, located in southern Africa and bordering eight other African nations, is a landlocked country that is about 10% larger than the state of Texas.  There are 18.3 million people living in Zambia and the population is composed of over 70 ethnic groups.  Additionally, there are nearly 100,000 refugees from other African countries and minority groups of Chinese, Indians, and Zambians of European heritage.  Although there are dozens of languages spoken throughout Zambia, English is the official language due to the country's former days as a British protectorate.  Lusaka is the nation’s capital and is also the commercial hub of the country.  Most visitors from Dallas traveling to Zambia will arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, located 16 miles from Lusaka’s business district.  Lusaka has plenty of quality restaurants and hotels to make visitors feel at home.  Just three hours away from Lusaka is the town of Siavonga and Lake Kariba, which is a great destination to relax and enjoy the scenery.  Zambia has some of Africa’s best wildlife preserves and national parks such as North Luanga, South Luanga, Kafue, Liuwa, and the Lower Zambezi National Park.  Of course, no visit to Zambia is complete without an overnight stay in the town of Livingston and an excursion to nearby Victoria Falls.
