How to Apply for a Liberia Visa in Miami
The Greater Miami Area is the seventh-largest metropolitan area in the United States and has a population of 6.2 million people. The metropolitan area is composed of Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County. Its main cities include Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Hialeah, Coral Gables, Miami Gardens, Miramar, Homestead, Davie, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and Boca Raton. This is a diverse community where 40% of the population was born in another country, however, the immigrant population of West Africans in Miami is small compared to other major U.S. cities, and there are very few Liberians—the majority of Liberians in the state of Florida reside in the Jacksonville area. In the United States, many Liberians immigrants have worked as nurses and caregivers. As the nursing care industry continues to grow throughout Florida, there will likely be increased opportunities for Liberian immigrants in Miami.
Liberia is a West African country of over 5 million people that is about ¾ the size of Florida by land area. Monrovia is the country’s political capital and most populous city. Visitors to Liberia fly into Roberts International Airport, which has a modern passenger terminal and will soon have a new cargo terminal. Liberia’s economy depends mostly on the trading of commodities like gold, iron ore, rubber, palm oil, and other commodities along with overseas remittances from the one million Liberians living abroad. Although doing business in Liberia is not easy, there are opportunities for Miami area businesspeople to help develop the country’s economy, especially those with experience in tourism, food production, marketing, and international trade. Liberia is gaining in popularity as a tourist destination for heritage tours as more Americans want to understand their ancestral culture and history. Visitors to Liberia will surely enjoy the country’s tranquil beach resorts and natural environment. Liberia even has its own Miami Beach!
