How to Apply for a Liberia Visa in Dallas
The city of Dallas and the surrounding metropolitan area is the most populous metropolis in the southern United States and fourth-most populous in the country. The Dallas metropolitan area—known as the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, or DFW by local residents—has a population of 7.6 million people and includes the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Irving, Garland, Richardson, Frisco, Mesquite, Denton, Grand Prairie, and McKinney. The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, located in North Texas, is one of the fastest growing regions in the country thanks to the low cost of living, low taxes, abundance of resources, and ease of doing business. There are over 5,000 Liberian immigrants living in Dallas and as many as 10,000 scattered throughout the North Texas region. The area is home to the Liberian Community Association of Dallas Fort-Worth and has several African churches led by Liberian pastors. North Texas is also home to several nonprofit organizations that provide education programs, medical services, and mission trips to support the people of Liberia.
Liberia is a West African country of over 5 million people that is about 6 times smaller than the state of Texas by land area. Visitors to Liberia fly into Roberts International Airport, located in the town of Harbel, which is home to the 4-star Farmington Hotel. The airport has a modern passenger terminal and will soon have a new cargo terminal that will support the country’s ability to export high-value, perishable agricultural products to Europe, America, and other African nations. Liberia’s economy relies on the exportation of minerals and agricultural commodities through the seaports of Monrovia (the country’s capital) and Buchanan, along with remittances from Liberians living abroad in cities like Dallas. Doing business in Liberia is not easy, but the country has lots of potential across multiple sectors of its economy, particularly in agriculture and tourism. Liberia is gaining in popularity as a tourist destination for heritage tours as more Americans want to understand their ancestral culture and history in towns like Paynesville and Careysburg. Americans also enjoy Liberia’s beach resorts, national parks and nature reserves (Sapo, Gola, Nimba), wildlife sanctuaries, flavorful foods, arts and crafts, and music (Afro pop and HipCo are a few modern music genres).
