Visitors to Liberia fly into Roberts International Airport, which has a modern passenger terminal with a VIP lounge and will soon have a new cargo terminal. Liberia’s economy depends mostly on the trading of commodities like gold, iron ore, rubber, and other agricultural commodities along with overseas remittances from the one million Liberians living abroad. Although doing business in Liberia is not easy, there are plenty of opportunities for Atlanta area businesspeople to help develop the country’s agriculture, education, tourism, entertainment, financial, construction, and real estate sectors. Liberia is gaining in popularity as a tourist destination for heritage tours as more Americans want to understand their ancestral culture and history.
