How to Apply for a Ghana Visa in Orlando

The city of Orlando, located in the Central Florida region of the United States and known as “the City Beautiful”, is ranked as America’s 23rd most-populous city.  The Orlando metropolitan area has a population of 2.6 million people and is home to several theme parks including Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios.  Orlando’s theme parks, natural attractions, and year-round warm weather make it one of the most-visited cities in the world.  The Orlando metropolitan area includes various cities and towns such as Kissimmee, Sanford, Winter Garden, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, and Apopka. While the Ghanaian immigrant community in Orlando is small compared to other East Coast cities, the area has experienced tremendous population growth and is becoming very diverse.  The number of immigrants from Ghana will grow in the years ahead as more people seek out new opportunities and move from other parts of the United States.  Orlando and other parts of the United States should also see an increase in the number of international students from Ghana as their economy continues to expand and Ghanaians have more financial resources to study overseas.  After Nigeria, Ghana sends the most students to the United States from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Ghana is a West African nation of 31 million people made up of 100 ethnic groups speaking nearly 80 languages.  The country has a proud history and rich culture that is one of the most influential in Africa.  After decades as a British colony, Ghana became the first country in Africa to gain independence in 1957, inspiring leaders not only across the African continent, but also those in the U.S. such as Martin Luther King, Jr. (King visited Ghana in 1957 and was there to witness the birth of this new nation).  A half century later, Americans are still traveling to Ghana and drawing inspiration from its people and culture.  Orlando area tourists will enjoy visiting sites such as Cape Coast Castle, Independence Square, and the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre as part of their educational journey, but there are also plenty of ways to experience modern-day Ghana and interact with locals by visiting Labadi Beach and Makola Market in Accra, the nation’s capital and most-populous city.  Other Orlando visitors might visit Ghana to seek out business opportunities.  Ghana is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and has vast opportunities across various sectors of its economy that parallel some of Orlando’s top industries such as financial services, construction, agriculture, tourism and entertainment.
